ISOMETRIC WORLD CONSTRUCTION
For Almost 2 years I worked on Improving and accelerating the production of an isometric video game.
Here is a glimpse of optimization pass I did for the Art department

The main production issue was that the team was constantly drawing everything from scratch, from sketch to rough color to final render...
After analysing the construction of our worlds, I broke it into different main parts: Background, Ground (tiles here), Walls and Decorations
Then going into each part we isolated some elements reusable and make them tilable so we can use them as patterns to shape our worlds quickly with a simple copy/paste over some vector shapes. This gives also the benefit to have lower files to work on.



This modular system can also be blended or superposed together to create differente variations of tiles or walls.
Also It becomes a real helpfull start to design new worlds without starting from scratch
